Course Offer

Elementary Level Courses A1/A2

  • Standard Module:
    Standard module courses are 4 hours a week, offered either as a 4-hour block or as 2 hours twice a week. Students take the courses that correspond to their level, which is determined either on the basis of previous courses at the Language Center or on the basis of their placement test results. Courses in the standard module are successive, that is, students must complete the requirements of one course before being able to enroll in the next one.

  • Intensive Module:
    Intensive module courses are 8 hours a week, offered as 4 hours twice a week. Students take the courses that correspond to their level, which is determined either on the basis of previous courses at the Language Center or on the basis of their placement test result. Courses in the standard module are successive, that is, students must complete the requirements of one course before being able to enroll in the next one.

Intermediate Level Courses B1/B2

  • Standard Module:
    Standard Module courses are 4 hours a week, offered either as a 4-hour block or as 2 hours twice a week. Students take the courses that correspond to their level, which is determined either on the basis of previous courses at the Language Center or on the basis of their placement test results. Courses in the standard module are successive, that is, students must complete the requirements of one course before being able to enroll in the next one.

 

  • Intensive Module:
    Intensive module courses are 8 hours a week, offered as 4 hours twice a week. Students take the courses that correspond to their level, which is determined either on the basis of previous courses at the Language Center or on the basis of their placement test results. 

 

  • Optional Modules:
    In addition to the standard module courses, students may also independently enrol in special 2-hour a week optional modules at both the B1 and B2 levels. In the Conversation Modules students can expand their range of communication skills. In the Grammar Modules previous knowledge is revised and solidified and new, more advanced elements are introduced. The courses are offered in addition to the Standard Module and are not intended as a substitute for it.

Advanced Level Courses C1/C1.2+

  • German Course C1.1:
    This course is intended as a bridge between standard comprehensive language learning courses and the more specialised courses offered at the C1.2 level. Here students revise and deepen their already advanced skills and are introduced to the features of specific text types and communication contexts.

  • Specialised Courses C1.2:
    Here the Language Center offers a number of courses of interest to advanced students with specific and specialised needs: improving oral presentation skills, conversing more fluently about research and topical issues, or writing applications and scientific texts.

  • Optional Module:
    In addition to the standard module courses, students may also independently enrol in a special 2-hour a week optional module atthe C1 level. In the Conversation Module students can expand their range of communication skills. The course is offered in addition to the Standard Module and is not intended as a substitute for it.
